Proactiv Products at Walmart: Equate Acne Treatment System

A few weeks ago, I was at Walmart and had to check out the beauty aisles. What did I see? Proactiv products by Equate!

equate proactive products The box says “compare to Proactiv Solution active ingredients” and the ingredients do look similar! I used Proactiv products for a few months during my teenage years and the system really helped my skin clear up, but it was too expensive at the time. I was about to give Proactiv another try when I saw the Equate Acne Treatment System on the shelves : )

proactiv products box The kit also came with a bonus mask, just like the Proactiv kits. If I remember correctly, this kit was only $12 *jaw drop* Proactiv is about $50…My favorite thing about this acne treatment kit is the benzoyl peroxide–that ingredient works way better for my skin than salicylic acid.

Bonus mask just like Proactiv products…

proactiv products mask If you’ve tried the mask by Proactiv, you know it smells like its main ingredient–sulfur. Ewww lol But it works and so does this Equate version! I just dot it on if I get a pimple and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then I wash my face and go on with my routine as usual. The pimple goes down really fast : )

proactiv products instructions Here are the ingredients and instructions listed right on the back of the box. That’s very convenient to see before you buy. So far, I can say that this system is working just as well as the Proactiv products, so if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative to Proactiv (and don’t want to be locked in to a subscription/deal with crappy customer service/have to wait for delivery) check out the Equate version!

Now I just have to find a good eye cream…

What’s your favorite skin care brand? Any eye cream recommendations for me?

Great post Hun! I’m glad you managed to find a more affordable version of the Proactiv Skincare that worked so well for you. I haven’t used Proactiv before but my younger sister has – it didn’t seem to work for her but I know we all have very different skin types. I use a prescription based zit cream now that my younger sister introduced me to and it works amazing (the best I’ve tried). The cream is called “Differin XP”.
My favourite skincare brand for body lotion is Aveeno (the Aveen Daily Moisturizing lotion that you like as well! yay!). My favourite face cream is still the basic Classic Oil of Olay Face Lotion. I use a Shiseido Face Sunscreen and recently bought a Shiseido Eye Sunscreen from Sephora which my younger sister introduced me to. The eyes are the first to wrinkle so I’m going to start protection that area….and for a night eye cream I use the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Serum Eye Cream which I have no idea if it works but for the price I hope it does something LOL

Oooo thank you for those recommendations! I have a prescription gel, too, called Ziana but I haven’t used it in over a year since it’s not safe for pregnancy. I got it for free but I found out it’s $300 per tube! lol So I don’t plan to rely on it EVER! I’ve heard great things about Shiseido and Estee Lauder skin care but the brands are pricey…hopefully they’ll be worth it!!

Awesome information! Thanks! Not a cleanser, but my current face obsession is Garnier’s BB cream. :)
